The Monks
“The perspective on Time is different in west and east. This piece expresses the Eastern, Buddhist time concept inspired by the book “Shobogenzo” by a Zen monk Dogen. In Buddhist understanding, time is momentary. Each state has its buddha nature and it exists only here and now. There is no past nor future. Wood doesn't become coal, coal is one state, wood is another state, and it's complete in each state and moment. Time doesn't exist outside of you. Time exists inside of you only through your awareness.”
